Volvo FMX

Impressive in every way. On the road and off-road.

The Volvo FMX is Volvo Trucks' most rugged construction truck to date. It makes light work of even the most demanding tasks—even off-road.

Cab Exterior Design

Tackles any challenge.

The new cab design impresses with vertical A-pillars, more interior space, large windows, and a low door line. The legendary robust profile is further enhanced by the lower front end and the elegant V-shaped headlights.

The headlights’ striking lines accentuate the cab’s shape and extend along the sides. True to the Volvo FMX concept, the rugged front end is protective and durable. Components can be easily replaced as needed.

You’ll also notice that the Iron Mark is larger at the front. And as you approach the door area, you’ll see that the entryway is now more durable and slip-resistant. On top of the cab, the steel roof hatch sets new standards for protection in tough operating conditions.

Cab Interior

Ready for action. And for a break.

Drivers who are comfortable perform better. As soon as you take your seat, you’ll find everything right where you expect it to be. Thanks to the adjustable steering column, you can customize the steering wheel’s position, and your hand rests naturally on the new I-Shift gear lever, which is integrated into the seat. The view from the truck’s driver’s seat is virtually unbeatable: the door line is low, the windows are large, and the interior is designed so you have everything in view.

If you need more traction, simply turn the easy-to-use rotary switch in the traction control system clockwise to activate the differential lock functions and front-axle drive.

Mobility

No terrain is too rough.

When mud or sand obscures your view of the road, there’s only one thing that helps: keep moving. A driven front axle with Automatic Traction Control (ATC) and up to 300 millimeters of ground clearance ensures you can do just that. On the Volvo FMX in the 4×4, 6×6, 8×6, and 10×6 configurations, this feature automatically engages the front axle at the right moment—and disengages it when it’s no longer needed. There’s a whole range of options available for your Volvo FMX that make driving on rough terrain easier.

When starting on a hill, Hill Start Assist keeps the vehicle on the road while the drivetrain builds up torque. If the truck gets stuck, the I-Shift “Rock-Out” function makes it easier for the driver to rock the truck free by pumping the accelerator pedal.
